"Schnitzelbank" is a rhyme which makes fun of certain events and people. In the evening, the "Schnitzelbänkler" (=people who present their Schnitzelbank) go from bar to bar and present their verses to an audience. The topics are painted on "Helgen" (=caricatures) which are shown to the public during the presentation. The rhymes, which have a punch line at the end, are mostly sung. These verses are never too rude; the central point is always just touched on in a decent way. If a "Schnitzelbank" is really good, one only understands what is really meant at the very last line.
